Meet the High Scardus Ultra Team

Experienced mountaineers, trail-runners, guides, and community organizers—our team knows these mountains inside and out. Passionate about nature and adventure, we are committed to delivering a challenging, well-organized race while promoting and preserving the stunning High Scardus region. Their goal is to share their love for the mountains and bring people together through the spirit of trail running.
Uta Ibrahimi,
Race Co-Director

A mountaineer, trail runner, and founder of the Utalaya Foundation, Uta is a UN SDG Champion and certified mountain guide. She made history as the first Kosovar-Albanian woman to summit Mount Everest. Currently on the “Utalaya 14×8000” expedition, Uta aims to summit all 14 of the world’s highest peaks, having already climbed 13. A passionate nature lover and advocate, she is committed to preserving the environment.

Igor Jovanovski, Logistics

A passionate mountaineer and trail runner, Igor is a Doctor of Stomatology by profession, but his true vocation lies in filmmaking and trail running, a passion he has pursued since 2014. He is also the current president of the renowned TREX Association for outdoor events. In addition to his leadership role, Igor contributes to the High Scardus Ultra by assisting with the logistical planning and coordination of the race.

Metodi Chilimanov, Race Co-Director

A certified UIMLA guide and ski guide, Metodi is co-founder and CEO of Shar Outdoors. He is a passionate mountaineer and trail runner with extensive experience as a UIMLA-certified mountain leader. In addition to guiding, Metodi is part of the instructor team specializing in winter tours and avalanche safety.

Abi Kocbasli, Marking and Trail Maintenance
